Botulinum Toxin
Botulinum toxin injections are the treatment method used for both cosmetic and medical therapy purposes. Common names for botulinum toxin-based medications used in the USA are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. All those brands have approximately similar effectiveness and longevity of therapeutic effect of the treatment.
As an aesthetic purpose, botulinum preparation was injected into the muscle, cousin g temporary paralysis of those muscles, resulting in a decreased appearance of the motion wrinkles. The effect of the injection lasts as long as muscles remain paralyzed, which is an average of 4-6 months.
